ABOUT PAST PUPILS ASSOCIATION

Dharmapala Vidyalaya Pannipitiya is a popular school located in Pannipitiya, Sri Lanka. It was established on January 21, 1942, as a Buddhist school by a group of distinguished Buddhist scholars and philanthropists, including Venerable Kalukondayawe Pannasekera Nayaka Thero, Venerable Madihe Pannasiha Nayaka Thero, and Honorable Sir Cyril de Zoysa.

The school was named after the famous Buddhist revivalist and writer, Anagarika Dharmapala, who played a significant role in promoting Buddhism in Sri Lanka and around the world. The school started with only 12 students and three teachers, but it grew rapidly, and by the end of the year, there were 42 students.

Over the years, Dharmapala Vidyalaya Pannipitiya has grown to become one of the leading schools in Sri Lanka, providing education to both boys and girls from the primary level to the Advanced Level. The school has produced many distinguished graduates who have excelled in various fields, including politics, business, arts, and sports.

In recent years, the school has expanded its facilities and introduced new programs to enhance the quality of education offered to its students. Today, Dharmapala Vidyalaya Pannipitiya is considered one of the best schools in Sri Lanka and continues to uphold its Buddhist traditions while providing a modern education to its students.
